Local Firefighters Respond to the Heat

If anyone knows about heat, it's a firefighter. With summer just starting, the temperature will only be rising which can cause discomfort and serious health concerns for senior citizens.

Pensacola Professional Firefighters Local 707 presented Council on Aging of West Florida with a $2,500 check to assist with efforts in purchasing air conditioner units and fans for seniors in need.

With just over 60 known seniors in need and the waiting list continuing to grow, Council on Aging should be able to help 20-25 seniors with these funds.

Thank you Pensacola Professional Firefighters Local 707 for your donation and assistance in this effort!

HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP:

Council on Aging of West Florida is accepting donations of new fans and 5,000 or 12,000 BTU window air conditioning units to help local seniors beat the heat.

Additionally, we welcome monetary donations that will be used for the purchase of additional fans and air conditioning units. Please drop of your donations at the Council on Aging office located at 875 Royce Street in Pensacola, or call 850-432-1475 for more information.
