Senior Solutions

Council on Aging of West Florida's Senior Solutions complements the Council on Aging's commitment to adult independence by offering customized care at affordable rates on home delivered meals and adult day health care for the growing number of people interested in receiving services that are normally provided based on need and income.
Senior Solutions provides hot nutritious noontime meals that contain a third of the daily required allowance for adults. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Special arrangements can be made for holidays. In addition, daily contact with delivery staff also means a regular check on a recipient's well being.
Relief from the rigors of 24-hour caregiving is provided by Senior Solutions at the Council on Aging's Oaks Adult Day Health Care Center. The Oaks offers peace of mind for families and a friendly environment for adults with physical and cognitive impairments. Staff, who receive continuous specialized training in areas such as Alzheimer's Disease and other forms of dementia as well as other geriatric impairments, monitor health needs and lead stimulating therapeutic activities.
In 2000, elder consumers spent an average of $3,493 out-of-pocket on health care, far more than any other group. This number is double 1990 spending. Elder consumers combined spent a reported $300 billion on healthcare in 2002. This number is expected to increase 25% by 2030. With the rising cost of medical care, more and more seniors and their families are seeking private at home long-term care services as opposed to expensive institutional care.
Senior Solutions offers schedules tailored to meet individual needs. Whether long term, temporary or occasional respite for caregivers, we have the Solution. For more information on Senior Solutions, please call 850-266-2506.
