ON-CALL COMMUNITY SERVICES SUPPORT STAFF Posted: Wednesday, October 18, 2017

SALARY:   $9/hr., mileage reimbursement, retirement benefit  

 HOURS:  M-F, 3 hours

NATURE OF WORK

The Community Services Department is under the direction of the Community Services Director. A person in this class performs routine work delivering various types of meals to homebound elders, substituting at Senior Dining Meal Sites, transporting  consumers in agency vehicles and providing clerical assistance on an on-call basis. 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Senior Dining Site Duties
• Manage site for Senior Dining Program
• Set tables ensuring the appropriate number of seats
• Complete intake and termination forms for site participants
• Complete appropriate volunteer paperwork
• Assist the Activities Supervisor with site activities
• Notify the Community Services Department of the daily meal requirements
• Submit the Client Reservation Report to the Community Services Manager weekly

Meals on Wheels Driver (as needed)
• Pick up meals from assigned pick-up sites
• Deliver meals to homebound elders/disabled persons on assigned route

Transportation Driver - Relief driver for regular transportation drivers when unavailable

BASIC REQUIREMENTS
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Florida driver’s license
• Dependable automobile
• Excellent driving record
• Ability to navigate and operate a vehicle
• Flexibility required in working hours/days
• Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics
• Previous driving experience and knowledge of local area preferred
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete reports
• Good communication skills
• Ability to relate to and interact with the elderly and disabled
• Special understanding of the needs and limitations of the elderly and disabled
• Ability to locate addresses and operate various sizes of passenger vans
• Successfully pass a Level II background screen
• Successfully pass pre-employment and annual medical exam to be medically certified as physically qualified to operate agency vehicles
