Coronavirus general updates03/16/2020

Council on Aging of West Florida’s adult day care, The Retreat, will be temporarily closed starting March 25, 2020, due to concerns about the coronavirus. Retreat clients may qualify for at-home respite care during this time, and their caregivers are encouraged to work with their case manager to determine that possibility. Council on Aging’s other services—Meals on Wheels, homemaker, companionship, respite, to-go meals, etc.—remain in operation at this time. Council on Aging management will reassess the impact of the virus on May 1 to determine if reopening The Retreat at that time is appropriate.

All participants at senior dining sites in both Escambia and Santa Rosa counties will receive their meals pre-plated. Participants at all sites will be encouraged to take the meals home.

Within the City of Pensacola, Bayview, Cobb, Fricker and Gull Point centers will close; however, participants at all sites are welcome to receive to-go pre-plated meals at Bayview and Cobb. They must call (850) 432-1475 by noon the day before to reserve a plate.
